Carol, the 'guru' is correct in what he has told you, however I am able to furnish you with FURTHER infrormation! Trooper Leonard Orr, regimental number 1402, enlisted 22 July 1915 in the 11th Reinforcements of the 6th Australian Light Horse Regiment of the 2nd Light Horse Brigade. He stated that he was a 25 year old bushman, single, of no fixed address, with his next of kin being John William Orr, father, Mapria, Taumarunini, Auckland, New Zealand. The 11th Reinforcements of the 6th Australian Light Horse Regiment sailed from Sydney aboard HMAT SS Hawkes bay on 23rd October 1915. (Hawkes Bay is in New Zealand, is it not? I went there while at a Scout Jamboree about twenty three, no, twenty four, years ago.) "Under Fur and Feather" is the title of the 6th ALH Regiment's unit history. Some original copies are still around and I think that it may have been reprinted not that long ago. I hope that the combined efforts of myself and the other joker have helped you in your enquiry. Best regards for the New Year in 2002! I f you require any further assistance: just ask the 'professional panel of experts.'
