The last coment is right in that the Light Horse had little to do with the Artillery.

What is know that during the reorg of the AIF in early 1916 many Light Horse reinforcements were seconded to the Artillery to act as gunners drivers and all types of jobs involved with that service. They filled the positions in the field artillery of the 4th and 5th Div's as well as the 1st and 2nd divisions.

Light Horseman also filled units if the DAC (Division ammunition colum), many of both never saw the desert or the battles there in and did there duty in the bloody fields of France and Flanders.

If you check the AIF nominal roll to check your relation or put his details on this site and we can check his history for you.
