Hi all,
Does anyone have any information on the area/remount station that was located at Horse Mountain, Lake Manchester.
We are trying to establish historical connection and significance of this area as regards listing/linking to heritage values of the region. We are trying to keep the powers that be from closing all the forestry trails in the area to horseback riding. Apparently Horse Mountain was a sub-station for the army remount trade around the turn of the 20th Century and thousands of horses would have spent time there on their way o/s.
Any ideas/comments are very welcome. Kholonial
