Is the leaf arrangment on the medals or seperate? If on the medals which one? The MID for the WWI was smaller then the WWII in that the leaves were folded down while the WWII type were sprayed out. If the Badge is seperate from the medals is it hallmarked with something? Can it be a NZ badge? (you said fern leafs)
I have Simpson's book on the 8 LHR near me but can't find any mention of this badge in it. What was your Grandfathers name to check for MID?
