Hi Steve,
I did notice it, and I went back through my records to find out what the story was on him. It seems that at the time I was composing the database I also ran into the same discrepancy, and put in into the 'Take care of it later' basket. Well of course I completely forgot about it in the meantime.
Anyway, I've written an email to a mate of mine who has a lot more information than I do on medals etc - he has a complete set of Army Orders for WW1 and many other extremely rare books and documents - and I've asked him to follow it up if he can.
That was a couple of days ago and I haven't heard from him yet, but he's very busy and sometimes only checks email once a week. As soon as I hear back from him I'll post the answer here, whether he finds the information or is unable to.
