LtCol N Brazier was the first commanding officer and as such its founder.

He was called the "Father of the Regiment" in the History by Olden.

He was the commanding officer of the 25th LHR than the Milita LHR in WA. And he was in a position to bring the pick of the officers and men into the new AIF unit.
