2027 Private George James HOLDEN 
 

2027 Private George James HOLDEN, a 19 year old Tobacco packer from 38 Regent Street, Paddington, New South Wales. He enlisted in the AIF on 14 November 1915 and was allotted to the 31st Battalion, 3rd Reinforcement which embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A70 Ballarat on 18 February 1916. HOLDEN was Wounded in Action, 22 July 1916 at Poziers, France. HOLDEN was removed from the trenches with frostbite and trenchfeet, 8 February 1917. After the Great War HOLDEN Returned to Australia, 8 May 1919.
