7683 Lieutenant Colonel John Thomas MCCOLL, a 36 year old Soldier from 37 Bent Street Paddington, New South Wales. He was mobilised with the 1st Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment on 5 August 1914. MCCOLL was transferred from the Imperial Army to the AIF on 26 November 1917. MCCOLL was Wounded in Action, 9 June 1918. After the Great War MCCOLL Returned to Australia, 27 May 1919. MCCOLL was awarded the Croix de Guerre, Military Cross, Mentioned in Despatches five times and the OBE.
