44th Infantry Battalion War Diary, 21 August 1918
The following officers arrived from England:-
Second Lieutenants Carter, Hearty, Dwyer, Clayton, Hatton.
A Conference of Company Commanders was held to discuss the probable action of the Battalion on the next day following an operation near Bray by the 9th Infantry Brigade in which we would consolidate their line of exploitation if they were successful.
