George William STOCKHAM
4303 Private George William STOCKHAM, a 37 year old Storekeeper from Fisher Street, Fullarton, South Australia, enlisted in the AIF on 14 September 1915 and was allotted to the Australian 5th Infantry Battalion, 13th Reinforcements which embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A14 [i]Euripides[/i] on 11 September 1916. During Great War, while with the 5th Infantry Battalion, Private STOCKHAM was wounded in action by shellfire and went missing then deemed killed in action around the Bullecourt Sector, France on 10 May 1917, and there was no known grave found, susequently STOCKHAM is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
