262 Private William Ernest GREEN, a 22 year old Painter from 13 Union Street, Richmond, Victoria. He enlisted in the AIF on 7 February 1916 and was allotted to the 39th Battalion, Headquarters which embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on 27 May 1916. GREEN subsequently was Wounded in Action, 4 October 1917. After the Great War GREEN Returned to Australia, 6 October 1919.
