The Culprit
Loaded like furniture carriers two diggers were doing their best to keep to the duckboard track that ran through St. Ouen. Both were cursing the war and all connected with it.
"I'd love to meet the blanky Kaiser for a few blanky minutes," remarked Jack.
"Oh, blast him," replied Chick. "Just give me a few blanky rounds with that blank of a quack who slapped me on the chest at Francis-Street, and said, "You’ll do, Aussie!'' If it hadn't been for him I'd never have been in this blanky mix-up!"
