Charles Edmund Perriam ARTHUR
995 Sergeant Charles Edmund Perriam ARTHUR, an 19 year old Butcher from Lewis Street, Brighton, Victoria , enlisted in the AIF on 17 August 1914 and was allotted to the Australian 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, No. 5 Battery which embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A9 [i]Shropshire[/i] on 20 October 1914. During Great War, while with the 6th Infantry Battalion, "D" Company, Sergeant ARTHUR was Killed in Action near Plugge's Plateaux at Anzac Cove, Turkey at 5.30pm, 11 May 1918 and subsequently was buried in the Beach Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
