Dear "Non-Com.'' - Re "Emma Gee's" query about wind-up!
The worst attack of wind-up I can remember having was in, the Jordan Valley. An orderly came up to me and said, quite calmly and dispassionately: "The Colonel wants you.”
The whole of my past life and my sins of omission and commission (at least for the past fortnight) passed before my mental vision. Wondering what the Old Man had found out, I went in fear and trembling to his bivvy.
All he wanted was to discuss how the men were standing up to the strenuous ordeal which mere existence in the Valley at that time imposed.
