Captain John Edwin SERGEANT, a 45 year old Grazier and vigneron from Goorambat, Victoria. He enlisted on 28 August 1914 and was allotted to the 8th Battalion, D Company which embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A24 Benalla on 19 October 1914. During the Gallipoli Campaign he was Killed in Action, 25 April 1915.
