Mother's letter, 31 January 1920
Jan 31st 1920 To the
Sir I having received a form from the Defence Department in connection with the inscription for War Graves I only have received one form and that for No 1160 Pte William Elliott. I should have received one also for my other son who was killed at Gallipoli on Nov 28 1915. No 1894 Pte Elliott Walter Vivian. Anticipating to hear further and oblige. Mrs E Elliott
1894 Private Walter Vivian ELLIOTT's mother wrote this letter in response to receiving information about her son 1160 Trooper William ELLIOTT, 2nd Light Horse Regiment who Died of Wounds, 17 July 1918. She is wondering why she has not received a similar letter regarding her son 1894 Private Walter Vivian ELLIOTT. It is evident she does not know about his wife, Amelia Lily Beatrice Elliott who married him prior to embarkation. |
