3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance

The 3rd LHFA (3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance) was originally recruited at Melbourne in October 1914 to form part of the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance, when Military Order 575 of 1914 created the 3rd Light Horse Brigade and the unit became the 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance.

The photographs in this album were taken by various members during the period of 1916 to 1918.

Brigadier General John Robinson ROYSTON, a 54 year old Pastrolist from 69 Sinclair Road, West Kensington, London, England. He was transferred to the AIF on 22 January 1916 and was allotted to the 12th Light Horse Regiment, Headquarters as Commanding Officer. ROYSTON subsequently was Wounded in Action, 6 August 1916. During the Great War, ROYSTON was discharged in London, England, 30 October 1917.
