In 1900, the South Australian printing company Hussey & Gillingham of 26-28 Waymouth Stree, Adelaide, decided to put together a booklet to raise funds for the Citizen's Bushmen's Contingent, a citizens funded military force to be sent to South Africa. It was to be raised on the same basis as outlined in New South Wales at the same time. The booklet concentrated on outlining the details and photographs of the first two contingents from South Australia to South Africa. The booklet was retailed for 6d with the profits being donated to the Citizen's Bushmen's Contingent.
