Charles Roy BROWN
1877 Private Charles Roy BROWN, an 18 year old labourer from Cowra, New South Wales, enlisted in the AIF on 26 February 1916 and was allotted to the Australian 53rd Infantry Battalion, 3rd Reinforcements which embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A37 [i]Barambah[/i] on 23 June 1916. During Great War, while with the 17th Infantry Battalion, Private BROWN was killed in action at Norevil on 15 April 1917, and was buried in the Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy, France.
