Douglas Robert William MOORE
1715 Private Douglas Robert William MOORE, a 21 year old Labourer from Meadows, South Australia, enlisted in the AIF on 13 March 1916 and was allotted to the 50th Battalion, 2nd Reinforcements which embarked from Port Adelaide, South Australia on board HMAT A60 [i]Aeneas[/i] on 11 April 1916. During Great War, while with the 50th Battalion, Private MOORE was wounded in action during an action 800m south west of Lagnicourt on 2 April 1917 and subsequently died of wounds on 16 April 1917 at the 3rd Stationery Hospital, Rouen, and was buried at the St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.
