On the 19th all telephone circuits in the Mussalabeh and Maskerah sectors weore made metallic. Considerable trouble was experienced with ground lines in these sectors owing to continuous shelling by the enemy, so alternative routes were povided and lines poled when possible. A system of communications was laid out from existing Regimental Headquarters to the second line defences built on the Abu Tilul ridges. On the 20th the laying of cable in the Mussalabeh sector of the line held by the 1st A.L.H. Brigade was completed, thus providing a metallic circuit in the line which might be in the range at listaning instraments should the enemy posses them.
