Henry "Harry" Max STANFORD
1062 Private Henry "Harry" Max STANFORD, a 22 year old Labourer from Farina, South Australia, enlisted in the AIF on 13 December 1915 and was allotted to the Australian 43rd Infantry Battalion, "D" Company which embarked from Port Adelaide, South Australia on board HMAT A19 [i]Afric[/i] on 9 June 1916. During Great War, while with the 43rd Infantry Battalion, Private FERGUSON was killed in action around the Oosthove Farm area near Ploegsteert Wood, Belgium on 24 April 1917, and was buried in the Strand Military Cemetery, Belgium.
