Richard Alexander JARMAN
415 Private Richard Alexander JARMAN, a 22 year old Plumber from Peel Street, Tamworth, New South Wales, enlisted in the AIF on 17 August 1914 and was allotted to the Australian 2nd Infantry Battalion, "D" Company which embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A23 [i]Suffolk[/i] on 18 October 1914. During Great War, while with the 2nd Infantry Battalion, "B" Company, Private JARMAN was Wounded in Action around Anzac Cove, Turkey and subsequently died of wounds while on the hospital ship Galeka, 29 April 1916. JARMAN was buried at sea and now commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli.
