Studebaker armoured car
The British Army purchased 5 Studebaker armoured cars which were used for the newly formed unit, known as the No. 17 Motor Machine Gun Battery (No. 17 MMG Bty). This particular unit, the No. 17 MMG Bty, moved to Egypt in January 1917. It was equipped with 5 Studebaker armoured cars, moving into Palestine April 1917. In June 1917 the unit was re-designated as the No. 15 Light Armoured Motor Battery, (15 LAMB).
