Arthur John LOBB
6770 Private Arthur John LOBB, a 29 year old Farmer from Margaret Street, Canterbury, Victoria, enlisted in the AIF on 5 November 1915 and was allotted to the Australian 5th Infantry Battalion, 22nd Reinforcements which embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A38 [i]Ulysses[/i] on 25 October 1916. During Great War, while with the 5th Infantry Battalion, Private LOBB died of illness (Pneumonia) at the 1/1 South Middlesex Casualty Clearing Station, Dernancourt on 6 April 1917, and was buried in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
