Colonel Margolin
The events in Palestine engage the attention of most ex-soldiers, particularly those who saw service in that historic country. By Colonel Margolin, however, they are followed with intense interest as, after leaving the 16th in France, he commanded the Jewish Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers and saw fighting with it in the closing stages of the Palestine campaign. After the war he remained in the Holy Land organising the Palestine Defence Force and resigned in 1921. "Margie" is well-known and popular among ex-service men and is a member of the Slate executive of the R.S.L..
