Victor "Vic" TURNBULL
3290 Trooper Victor "Vic" TURNBULL, an 18 year old Farmer from Thornton Street, Wellington, New South Wales, enlisted in the AIF on 5 March 1917 and was allotted to the Australian 7th Light Horse Regiment, 27th Reinforcements which embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A15 Port Sydney on 20 June 1917. During Great War, while with the 7th Light Horse Regiment, "B" Squadron, Trooper TURNBULL was killed in action, at 5am, along with 7 other men by an aerial torpedo dropped during an air raid near Jericho, Palestine on 7 May 1917, and buried in the Jerusalem War Cemetery.
