William Thomas Venables YOUNG
2919 Private William Thomas Venables YOUNG, a 29 year old Coachbuilder from Young Street, St. Arnaud, Victoria, enlisted in the AIF on 22 July 1915 and was allotted to the Australian 14th Infantry Battalion, 9th Reinforcements which embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A20 [i]Hororata[/i] on 27 September 1915. During Great War, while with the 1st Infantry Battalion, Lance Corporal YOUNG was killed in action at Riencourt on 11 April 1917, and was commemorated at the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
