Albert Harris Tasman BENDER
114 Private Albert Harris Tasman BENDER, a 26 year old Farm Labourer from Bream Creek, Tasmania enlisted in the AIF on 2 March 1916 and was allotted to the 40th Infantry Battalion, "A" Company which embarked from Hobart, Tasmania on board HMAT A35 Berrima on 1 July 1916. During Great War, Sergeant BENDER was wounded in action at Morlancourt on 28 March 1918 and subsequently died of wounds on 30 March 1918, and was buried at the Doullens Communal Cemetery, France.
