Joseph David MAHONEY
2649 Private Joseph David MAHONEY, a 19 year old Gardener from Henley Beach Road, Henley Beach, South Australia, enlisted in the AIF on 19 April 1915 and was allotted to the Australian 10th Infantry Battalion, 8th Reinforcements which embarked from Adelaide, South Australia on board HMAT A68 [i]Anchises[/i] on 2 September 1915. During Great War, while with the 10th Infantry Battalion, Sergeant MAHONEY was killed in action around Louverval on 8 April 1917, and was commemorated at the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
