Colin Alexander MITCHELL
2734 Colin Alexander MITCHELL, a 15 year old Grocer from 844 King Street, Tempe, New South Wales enlisted in the AIF on 17 August 1915 and was allotted to the 18th Infantry Battalion, 6th Reinforcement which embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 28 June 1915. During Great War, while with the Australian 53rd Infantry Battalion, Private MITCHELL captured by the Germans at Fleurbaix on 20 July 1916. Sebequently MITCHELL was transferred to Holland, 7 May 1918, repatriated to England, 12 October 1918 and returned to Australia, 19 February 1919.
