The death of Colonel Francis Maitland Wyborn Parker in Cairo was quite a shock to everyone. He was a well liked officer with extensive military experience. He was the son of Chief Justice Sir Harry Parker and the co-founder of the noted Perth law firm of Parker and Parker - Colonel Parker was the latter Parker in the name. You can see the museum dedicated to the Parker family at Bridge House, York. The Parker family was one of the oligarchs of WA at the turn of the century.
