New South Wales Imperial Bushmen War Diary, 14 August 1900.
This is an extract from the War Diary written by Major David Miller, Adjutant of the New South Wales Imperial Bushmen who arrived in the Mozambique port of Biera and then moved to Rhodesia as part of the journey for deployment in South Africa to see action in the Boer War.

Sir,
In accordance with your instructions I have the honour to report that I am continuing to carry on the duties of Supply Officer to the 2nd Brigade, General Carrington's Division and beg to forward a copy of my diary from the date upon which I posted my previous communication.
14 Aug 1900 - Monday
In camp Mafeking. Received orders at 7 a.m. that all Squadron wagons were to load up with 2 day's supplies and that I was to form another supply column for the 2nd Brigade which would move out at 1 p.m.. Obtained 19 mule wagons, drew supplies, ready by 1 p.m.. Column moved out at 3.30 p.m. and marched until 8 p.m.. Outspanned for night. Distance covered 8 miles.
The column is camped at Mafeking and resupplying after burning the previous supplies.
