Ulverston Troop Nominal Roll
After the formation of the Ulverston Troop as part of "B" Squadron, Tasmanian Mounted Infantry, the rolls were actively filled. Below is a list of the first men to enlist in the Ulverston Troop from 1899 to 1901.
H. Bishop, enlisted on 28 June 1901, from Sprent, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 34.
C. Bond, enlisted on 28 June 1901, from North Motton, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 35.
A. Haustein, enlisted on 4 October 1899, from North Motton, stated occupation as Labourer, and was allotted Regimental Number 36.
J. Pearson, enlisted on 17 September 1899, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 33.
G.P. Taylor, enlisted on 3 March 1892, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Watchmaker, and was allotted Regimental Number 32.
W.M. Bennett, enlisted on 20 January 1900, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 22.
J.P. Brown, enlisted on 16 December 1899, from Sprent, stated occupation as Farm Labour, and was allotted Regimental Number 21.
R.J. Colhourn, enlisted on 7 December 1899, from Penguin, stated occupation as Draper, and was allotted Regimental Number 15.
W. Coulthara, enlisted on 28 June 1901, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Carpenter, and was allotted Regimental Number 31.
F.H. Fielding, enlisted on 7 December 1899, from Penguin, stated occupation as Blacksmith, and was allotted Regimental Number 17.
C.N. Fogg, enlisted on 5 May 1900, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Independent, and was allotted Regimental Number 24.
F.T.H. Goucher, enlisted on 24 May 1900, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Lawyers Clerk, and was allotted Regimental Number 27.
F.C. Groom, enlisted on 7 December 1899, from Riana, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 12.
T.A. Groom, enlisted on 7 December 1899, from West Pine, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 13.
C.A. Heazlewood, enlisted on 25 January 1900, from North Motton, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 37.
Henslow, enlisted on 29 November 1899, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 2.
H.S. Hewitt, enlisted on 14 December 1901, from North Motton, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 38.
W.J. Hingston, enlisted on 12 September 1900, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Farmer, and was allotted Regimental Number 30.
W.J. Hughes, enlisted on 24 May 1900, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Trooper, and was allotted Regimental Number 26.
G.J. Knight, enlisted on 29 November 1899, from Leith, stated occupation as Groom, and was allotted Regimental Number 5.
A. Lette, enlisted on 7 December 1899, from Penguin, stated occupation as Baker, and was allotted Regimental Number 16.
E.L. Mays, enlisted on 30 November 1899, from Ulverstone, stated occupation as Hotel Keeper, and was allotted Regimental Number 11.
