9th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 11th Reinforcement Benalla Group, embarked from Adelaide, South Australia on board HMAT A24 Benalla 27 October 1915.

The HMAT A24 Benalla weighed 11,118 tons with an average cruise speed of 14 knots or 25.92 kmph. It was owned by the P & O SN Co, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 6 August 1917.

1433 Private Eric Reginald Archibald PHILCOX, a 19 year old Farm hand from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 13 July 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 5 March 1919.

1434 Private William Hall PLUSH, a 21 year old Labourer from Renmark, South Australia. He enlisted on 23 July 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.

1435 Private George PRIOR, a 21 year old Labourer from Hallett, South Australia. He enlisted on 22 July 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 11 April 1916.

1440 Private Charles Morphett ROBINSON, a 25 year old Bushman from Menindee, South Australia. He enlisted on 28 April 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 22 November 1919.

1441 Acting Corporal Richard George ROBINSON, a 29 year old Bushman from Menindee, South Australia. He enlisted on 2 August 1915; and subsequently Died of wounds, 19 April 1917.

1442 Private Colin RODGER, a 20 year old Jeweller from Knightsbridge, South Australia. He enlisted on 7 July 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 27 April 1919.

1443 Private Alexander William RUSSELL, a 19 year old Farmer from Lexton, South Australia. He enlisted on 27 June 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 3 October 1917.

 

1444 Private Harold SAMUELS, a 25 year old Carpenter from Wallaroo, South Australia. He enlisted on 18 July 1915; and subsequently was Killed in action, 19 April 1917.

1445 Acting Sergeant William Arthur SLOAN, a 21 year old Wool Classer from Ashfield, New South Wales. He enlisted on 5 July 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 10 July 1919.

1446 Private Alfred Leslie SMITH, an 18 year old Saddler from Goolwa, South Australia. He enlisted on 21 July 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.

1447 Private Oswald Stinton SOWERBY, an 18 year old Farmer from Encounter Bay, South Australia. He enlisted on 8 July 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 27 April 1919.
