The HMAT A55 Kyarra weighed 6,953 tons with an average cruise speed of 14 knots or 25.92 kmph. It was owned by the AUSN Co Ltd, London, and manned by Australia officers and crew. The Kyarra was leased by the Commonwealth until 4 January 1918. The Kyarra was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine in the English Channel, 26 May 1918.

18582 Sapper Walter BOWDITCH, a 21 year old Operator from Coonamble, New South Wales. He enlisted on 12 March 1917. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 2nd Light Horse Signal Squadron; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.
18583 Sapper Herbert Roy DAWSON, a 31 year old Clerk from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 15 September 1916. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 4th Light Horse Signal Troop; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
18585 Sapper William Howard GREEN, a 19 year old Clerk from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 12 March 1917. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 1st Light Horse Signal Squadron; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
18587 Sapper Ronald Gilbert Carthew JEFFERY, an 18 year old Postal worker from Zeehan, Tasmania. He enlisted on 27 September 1916. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 2nd Light Horse Signal Squadron; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.
18588 Sapper Clive Harry MITCHELL, a 22 year old Farm Student from Manly, New South Wales. He enlisted on 10 April 1917. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the Lines of Communication Signal Company; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.
18589 Sapper Richard Stanley MOORE, a 25 year old Accountant from Petersham, New South Wales. He enlisted on 1 December 1916. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the Lines of Communication Signal Company; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 September 1919.
18594 Sapper Stanley Richard Brookhouse PRESTON, a 21 year old Engineer draughtsman from Petersham, New South Wales. He enlisted on 6 November 1916. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 4th Light Horse Signal Troop; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 22 September 1919.
18590 Sapper Cyril Joseph RAE, an 18 year old Telegraphist from North Sydney, New South Wales. He enlisted on 22 February 1917. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 1st Light Horse Field Squadron Engineers; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
18591 Sapper Herbert Gwynne SMITH, an 18 year old Fireman from Broken Hill, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 November 1916. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 4th Light Horse Signal Troop; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 2 August 1919.
18592 Sapper George Henry SWALLOW, a 37 year old Ostler from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 22 February 1917. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 1st Light Horse Signal Squadron; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
18593 Sapper Frank Arthur Sutton THOMPSON, a 22 year old Postal worker from Mudgee, New South Wales. He enlisted on 21 February 1917. After embarkation and arrival in Egypt where he underwent additional training, he was allotted to the 1st Light Horse Signal Squadron; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
