1st Light Horse Signal Squadron, AIF, 11th Reinforcement, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A55 Kyarra on 3 September 1917.
The HMAT A55 Kyarra weighed 6,953 tons with an average cruise speed of 14 knots or 25.92 kmph. It was owned by the AUSN Co Ltd, London, and manned by Australia officers and crew. The Kyarra was leased by the Commonwealth until 4 January 1918. The Kyarra was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine in the English Channel, 26 May 1918.

18601 Sapper Henry Stillman CHOWN, an 18 year old Messenger from Randwick, New South Wales. He enlisted on 26 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.
18599 Sapper Raymond CLUNE, a 23 year old Tiler from Albion, Queensland. He enlisted on 12 May 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 28 June 1919.
18600 Sapper Alexander John ELDER, a 25 year old Clerk from Townsville, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 December 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
18602 Sapper Harry Lindsay Gordon HARPER, an 18 year old Postal worker from St Peter, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 July 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 2 January 1919.
18603 Driver Richard OSBORNE, a 30 year old Electricial mechanic from Rockdale, New South Wales. He enlisted on 9 November 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 24 September 1919.
18606 Sapper William Thomas SMETHERAM, a 21 year old Telegraphist from Geraldton, Western Australia. He enlisted on 8 January 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 10 July 1919.
18604 Driver Ernest Watkins WILLIAMS, a 22 year old Engineer from Newcastle, New South Wales. He enlisted on 9 November 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 8 October 1919.
