11th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 6th Reinforcements Hawkes Bay 23 October Group, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT SS Hawkes Bay 23 October 1915.
The SS Hawkes Bay was built at Sunderland in 1891 and weighed 4,583 tons. It was owned by the TYSER LINE (G.D.TYSER & CO.)

Embarkation Roll
Lieutenant Ernest Henry BARTLEY, a 24 year old Farmer from Esk, Queensland. He enlisted on 15 December 1914; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1920
1760 Private James BLACK, a 22 year old Miner from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 8 November 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 24 April 1918.
