11th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 7th Reinforcements Hawkes Bay Group, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT SS Hawkes Bay 23 October 1915.

The SS Hawkes Bay was built at Sunderland in 1891 and weighed 4,583 tons. It was owned by the TYSER LINE (G.D.TYSER & CO.)

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

11th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 7th Reinforcements Geelong Group, embarked from Adelaide, South Australia on board HMAT A2 Geelong 18 November 1915.

HMAT A2 Geelong weighed 7,851 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the P&O SN Co, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until it collided with SS Bonvilston in the Mediterranean and sunk, 1 January 1916.

11th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 8th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A10 Karoo 5 May 1916.

The HMAT A10 Karroo weighed 6,127 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Ellerman & Bucknall SS Co Ltd, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 3 January 1917.

1700 Private Sydney Alexander BYERS, a 25 year old Butcher from South Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 12 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

 

1702 Private George CARRINGTON, a 21 year old Stockman from Rockhampton, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 10 July 1919.

 

1707 Private Thomas Patrick DARCY, a 25 year old Labourer from Harwood Is, New South Wales. He enlisted on 19 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 June 1919.

1704 Private James Samuel DAVIES, a 25 year old Labourer from Gracemere, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 November 1919.

1705 Private Charles DAY, a 26 year old Labourer from Coramba, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 1 July 1919.

1703 Private John Denis DUNN, a 22 year old Lengths man from Beaudesert, Queensland. He enlisted on 4 January 1916; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 28 March 1918.

 

1708 Private Albert EVANS, a 28 year old Shearer from Surat, Queensland. He enlisted on 4 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

 

1709 Private Alphonsus GILLIGAN, a 32 year old Labourer from Hornsby, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and subsequently Died of Disease, 29 October 1918.

1710 Private Henry GRANT, a 44 year old Labourer from Dalby, Queensland. He enlisted on 14 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.

 

1712 Private Henry Thomas HAMBRECHT, a 23 year old Teamster from 8 Mile Plain, Queensland. He enlisted on 28 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

1713 Private Patrick HICKEY, a 20 year old Dairy farmer from Gracemere, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 10 July 1919.

1711 Private Philip William HOWSE, a 26 year old Farmer from Wallumbilla, Queensland. He enlisted on 28 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 9 July 1919.

 

1714 Private Victor KILPATRICK, an 18 year old Labourer from Prairie, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 12 November 1917.

 

1715 Private Charles LEE, a 39 year old Station hand from Hughenden, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 12 November 1917.

 

1736 Acting Corporal William Alfred Noel MARLAY, a 27 year old Manager from Dalby, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 5 February 1919.

1734 Private Andrew Norman McCULLOUGH, an 18 year old Carter from Bundaberg, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

1716 Private Joseph McMURDY, a 19 year old Farmer from East Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 29 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

1719 Private Samuel MOORE, a 22 year old Drover from Charters Towers, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

1720 Private Edward James PAGE, a 26 year old Engine driver from Emu Vale, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.

1733 Private William Alfred PESTORIUS, a 32 year old Miner from Charters Towers, Queensland. He enlisted on 11 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.

1722 Private Edward Wyndham PEYTON, a 23 year old Tiler from Red Hill, Queensland. He enlisted on 8 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 24 July 1919.

1737 Private Julian Edward William PING, a 26 year old Labourer from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 2 November 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 10 July 1919.

1721 Private Alfred POULSEN, a 27 year old Farmer from Broke, New South Wales. He enlisted on 28 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 June 1919.

 

1725 Private James RILEY, a 32 year old Stockman from Charleville, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 15 November 1918.

1724 Private Robert Thomas RYAN, a 19 year old Engine cleaner from Cherry Gully, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 20 July 1918.

1723 Private William Gordon RYAN, a 20 year old Farmer from Cherry Gully, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

 

1727 Private Daniel SEWELL, a 20 year old Labourer from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 October 1915; and subsequently was Discharged in Britain, 28 June 1919.

1729 Private Stephen Sidney SMITH, a 21 year old Postal clerk from Winton, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 February 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.

1726 Private John Avery STOPP, a 20 year old Farrier from Cairns, Queensland. He enlisted on 21 December 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 2 September 1916.

1730 Private Frederick George STUBBS, a 21 year old Labourer from Tambourine, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 18 December 1919.

 

1731 Private William TAYLOR, a 27 year old Bushman from Charters Towers, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 10 April 1918.

1732 Private James Robert George TERRY, a 21 year old Grocer’s mate from Deepwater, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 27 April 1917.

11th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 9th Reinforcements, embarked from Brisbane, Queensland on board HMAT A49 Seang Choon 4 May 1916.

The HMAT A49 Seang Choon weighed 5,807 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Lim Chin Tsong, Rangoon. The Seang Choon was torpedoed and sunk off coast of Ireland, 10 July 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:
