HMAT A60 Aeneas

 

7th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 13th Reinforcement, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A60 Aeneas 20 December 1915.

The HMAT A60 Aeneas weighed 10,049 tons with an average cruise speed of 14 knots or 25.92 kmph. It was owned by the Ocean SS Co Ltd, Liverpool, and leased by the Commonwealth until 22 June 1917.

1753 Private Rowland Dennis Clark LEESON, a 22 year old Farmer from Barmedman, New South Wales. He enlisted on 28 August 1915; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 17 October 1918.

1815 Private Robert Leigh LIVINGSTON, a 20 year old Farmer from Mt Errington, Hornsby, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 December 1915; and subsequently was Discharged in Britain, 23 August 1917.

1755 Private William Frederick LONG, a 26 year old Saddler from Albury, New South Wales. He enlisted on 18 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 4 January 1919.

 

1764 Private John Hercules MANN, a 25 year old Farmer from Port Macquarie, New South Wales. He enlisted on 7 September 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 22 January 1917.

1767 Private Jack Denham MATTHEWS, a 33 year old Station Overseer from Glen Alice via Rylstone, New South Wales. He enlisted on 2 August 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 April 1919.

1768 Private Reginald Ernest MEYERS, a 23 year old Labourer from Collingwood, Victoria. He enlisted on 23 August 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 5 November 1917.

1765 Private Michael Arthur MORAN, a 19 year old Carpenter from West Tamworth, New South Wales. He enlisted on 6 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 1 May 1919.

1823 Acting Sergeant Neville MORRISBY, a 25 year old Station Overseer from Mt Joy, Queensland / Lindfield, New South Wales. He enlisted on 26 May 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 1 May 1919.

1814 Acting Sergeant Clyde Edgar MUIR, a 21 year old Banker from McMahons Point, New South Wales. He enlisted on 14 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 31 December 1919.

 

1769 Private Frank NORRIS, a 19 year old Farmhand from Wyalong, New South Wales. He enlisted on 11 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 1 May 1919.
