1917

Battle - Reconnoitre Gaza
9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Point 320 East of Goz el Taire.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary -
At 0500 the outpost line was drawn in and the Regiment joined the remainder of the Brigade in and around a reconnaissance in the area of Gaza. The 9th Light Horse Regiment advanced in a line from the sea to the Khan Yunis - Gaza telegraph line. The 9th Light Horse Regiment being on their right and joining both a Yeomanry Brigade on the right.
The Wadi Ghuzze was crossed at about 1130 - no enemy being encountered and the screen A Squadron on right and C on left with B Squadron in reserve was pushed to about 1/2 mile south east of 272. Regiment command post was established at El Sheluf.
By the time the 8th Light Horse Regiment were encountering resistance towards the coast and a number of infantry were seen moving about on our front - both about a Squadron of Turkish Cavalry manoeuvred out of range. At 1400 about 700 Turkish infantry advanced towards the positions held by A Squadron - but being fired on stood fast.
At 1500 the Brigade withdrew to camp. A Squadron finding the rearguard.
1918

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Deir el Belah
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - A squadron composed as detailed of the 16th March 1918 carried out mounted action training.
Wagg, Lieutenant BSW; and, two other ranks reported back from Port Said Rest Camp.
Nelson, Captain AH; and, two Other Ranks marched in from 3rd Light Horse Training Regiment, Moascar.
Three Non Commissioned Officers proceeded to cadet school.
Two Other Ranks went on leave and one Other Rank transferred to Imperial Camel Corps, Abbassia.
1919

9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - 0530 Kildea, Lieutenant FJ, with mounted troop moved to Faqus
1800 Lieut Driscoll with mounted troop returned from Belbeis.
Aikman, Lieutenant GE, returned from attachment Descorps Camp, Tripoli.
