9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - The Regiment with the Brigade marched out of camp at Tel el Marakeb on the 25th March 1917 [Strength 23 Officers 409 Other Ranks] with 465 riding horses and 23 pack horses.
The Regiment moved under mobile conditions carrying five days rations [and two days emergency rations] on 20 riding horses - an improvised gamble - arriving at Deir el Belah for the night.
