HMAT A6 Clan Maccorquodale

 

3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance, AIF, 24th Reinforcement, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A6 Clan MacCorquodale 5 February 1917.

The HMAT A6 Clan Maccorquodale weighed 5121 tons with an average cruise speed of 15 knots or 27.78 kmph. It was owned by the Cayser, Irvin and Co., Glasgow, and leased by the Commonwealth until 14 April 1915. The Clan Maccorquodale was torpedoed and sunk in Mediterranean, 17 November 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

Rank on embarkation;

Full name of the soldier

Declared age of the soldier;

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

Fate.

Embarkation Roll

 

16704 Private Neville Arthur Gull JOHNSON, a 19 year old Agricultural Student from Camberwell, Victoria. He enlisted on 8 March 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 27 January 1919.

 

16705 Private James Clemens SALTER, a 22 year old Baptist missionary from Kerang, Victoria. He enlisted on 1 November 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.

 

16706 Private James TATTERSON, a 19 year old Clerk from Essendon, Victoria. He enlisted on 6 April 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 2 August 1918.
