Monday, March 19, 19179th Light Horse Regiment Location - Bir Abu Shannar, Palestine.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - In conjunction with the 8th Light Horse Regiment, Field Ambulance and Machine Gun Squadron section an endeavour was made to round up enemy patrols in vicinity of Khan Yunis. The force was divided into two columns - the left under Maygar, Lieutenant Colonel LC, VC DSO, moving via the beach to Deir el Belah and thence to Tel el Shabani. The right force consisting of 9th Light Horse Regiment, two sections of the 3rd Machine Gun Squadron, and Field Ambulance under Scott, Lieutenant Colonel WH, moved out at 0200 and proceeded via Rafa, El Fukhari to vicinity of Abu Sitta. From here, A Squadron was detached to make good the country towards Sheikh el Nakhrur. Point 330 was reached by the remainder of the column, less Field Ambulance which was left at Abasan el Kebir, had a line running from 330 towards 340 and connecting on the right with the 8th Light Horse Regiment who extended it to the sea, was taken up by B Squadron. C Squadron was the reserve.
At 0700 a drive was commenced towards Khan Yunis.
By 1100 the drive had been completed - no enemy being seen and after watering horses the column retuned to camp. The 8th Light Horse Regiment remained at the outpost line through 320.
1918

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Deir el Belah, Palestine.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Syllabus issued. Beale, Captain JCM, Regimental Medical Officer, was transferred to hospital. One Other Rank transferred to 11th Light Horse Regiment. One Other Rank reported back from hospital.
1919
Wednesday, March 19, 1919
9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Zagazig, Egypt.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - 0200 McDonald, Captain JM, MC, returned having escorted the Greek family back safely to Zagazig. On the way out he came upon a party of inhabitants wrecking the railway. These he dispersed by firing a few shots, killing one.
1000 Moved to new bivouac area near Turkish Prison Barracks. Rear parties from Moascar joined up. Mounted Squadron marched in about 1900 and bivouacked with Regiment.
