11th Australian Light Horse Regiment

Embarkation Roll, 12th Reinforcements

 

RMS Mooltan

 

11th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 12th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board RMS Mooltan 19 August 1916.

The RMS Mooltan weighed 9,621 tons with an average cruise speed of 18.5 knots or 34.26 kmph. It was owned by the P & O SN Co, London.  Torpedoed and sunk by UC27 on 26 July 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

Rank on embarkation;

Full name of the soldier

Declared age of the soldier;

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

Fate.

 

Embarkation Roll

 

1944 Private Arthur Ernest ALEXANDER, an 18 year old Rail porter from Curra, Gympie, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 March 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 June 1919.

 

1945 Private William Herman BRIX, a 23 year old Farmer from Avondale Bundaberg, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 April 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 3 August 1918.

1946 Private John Frederick BURLEY, a 23 year old Labourer from Texas, Queensland. He enlisted on 23 March 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 19 January 1919.

 

1947 Private William DAVIS, a 25 year old Labourer from Rosalie, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 October 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 June 1919.

1948 Private Charles Reginald DAY, an 18 year old Carter from Townsville, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.

1949 Private Ernest Frederick DENNIS, a 20 year old Station hand from Charters towers, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

 

1950 Private Andy Frederick Cleven EVETTS, a 22 year old Labourer from Walkerston, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 February 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 June 1919.

 

1951 Private Alfred Ernest FORSYTH, a 31 year old Farmer from Moore, Brisbane Valley Line, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 5 March 1919.

 

1952 Private Leslie James GOOD, a 21 year old Labourer from Roma, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 24 July 1919.

 

1975 Private Richard HEHIR, a 21 year old Labourer from Pomona, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.

1953 Private Thomas Sherlock HYNES, a 20 year old Butcher from Wolfram Camp, Queensland. He enlisted on 29 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 24 July 1919.

 

1955 Private Edgar Thomas JOHNS, a 22 year old Farmer from Cooroy, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 4 July 1919.

 

1956 Private William Edward KERRIGAN, a 22 year old Station hand from Enngonia via Bourke, New South Wales. He enlisted on 11 January 1916; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 31 October 1917.

 

1957 Private William Edward LEE, a 40 year old Farmer from Woolloongabba, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 March 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 23 December 1918.

 

1958 Private Harry Leslie MacARTNEY, a 22 year old Fireman from Laidley, Queensland. He enlisted on 1 March 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 12 November 1917.

1959 Private Walter James MANDALL, an 18 year old Labourer from Dalby, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 February 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.

1960 Private Peter John MANTHEY, a 21 year old Farmer from Hillside via Rosewood, Queensland. He enlisted on 29 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 4 March 1919.

1961 Private Thomas MOYNIHAN, a 21 year old Blacksmith from Bangalow, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 May 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.

1963 Private Thomas MURPHY, a 23 year old Labourer from Mossman, New South Wales. He enlisted on 12 February 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 12 July 1918.

 

1964 Private Frederick NEWMAN, a 28 year old Motor driver from Bulimba, Queensland. He enlisted on 31 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 29 April 1919.

1965 Private Stanley Roy NEWMAN aka NEUMANN, a 23 year old Carpenter from Ipswich, Queensland. He enlisted on 5 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.

1966 Private Martin Joseph NOLAN, a 39 year old Grocer from Coraki, New South Wales. He enlisted on 9 March 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

 

1967 Private Patrick John O'BRIEN, a 27 year old Labourer from Pomona, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.

 

1968 Private James Shaw PARK, a 27 year old Farmer from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 11 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 28 August 1919.

1969 Private Stanley James PARKER, a 22 year old Canecutter from Proserpine, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 18 July 1919.

1970 Private John Farren PRICE, a 42 year old Jockey from Hamilton, Queensland. He enlisted on 31 March 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 28 January 1919.

 

1941 Acting Sergeant Frank Hayes SAWYER, a 24 year old Farmer from Woombye, Queensland. He enlisted on 28 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 22 September 1919.

1971 Private James Gordon SOMERVILLE, a 20 year old Labourer from Mullumbimby, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.

519 Corporal Christopher STANDRING, a 33 year old Clerk from Emmaville, New South Wales. He enlisted on 12 November 1914; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 24 February 1919.

 

1942 Acting Corporal Clement Albert WETHERED, a 31 year old Ranger from New Farm, Queensland. He enlisted on 18 February 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.

1973 Private William WILLIAMS, a 38 year old Labourer from Rockhampton, Queensland. He enlisted on 1 February 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 30 August 1918.

1972 Private Andrew Ernest WILLIAMSON, a 21 year old Labourer from Bowen, Queensland. He enlisted on 11 February 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.

 

1974 Private Charles YOUNG, a 19 year old Grazier from Goondiwindi, Queensland. He enlisted on 2 March 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 24 July 1919.
