9th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, "B" Squadron, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A10 Karroo 11 February 1915.

The HMAT A10 Karroo weighed 6,127 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Ellerman & Bucknall SS Co Ltd, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 3 January 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:
