The SS Port Lyttelton [sometimes referred to as SS Port Lydelton in Australian sources] was formerly the SS Niwaru but requisitioned in 1916 as a troop ship and renamed to SS Port Lyttelton. The ship weighed 6,444 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Commonwealth & Dominion Line, London.

21353 Sapper Harry GUSS, a 21 year old Painter from Balmain, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 July 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.
21354 Sapper Cecil Andrew HARCOURT, a 26 year old Storekeeper from Manly, New South Wales. He enlisted on 4 December 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 27 January 1919.
21358 Sapper Gerald Theodore Thomas SINGLETON, an 18 year old Clerk from Surrey Hills, Victoria. He enlisted on 14 July 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.
21357 Sapper Ernest Francis THRUSSELL, an 18 year old Clerk from Queens Park, Western Australia. He enlisted on 28 September 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
21355 Sapper Thomas Joseph WALSH, a 32 year old Postmaster from Walcha, New South Wales. He enlisted on 28 May 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.
21356 Sapper Windham Harold WILSON, a 29 year old Bank officer from West Bundaberg, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 June 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 5 March 1919.
