The SS Port Lyttelton [sometimes referred to as SS Port Lydelton in Australian sources] was formerly the SS Niwaru but requisitioned in 1916 as a troop ship and renamed to SS Port Lyttelton. The ship weighed 6,444 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Commonwealth & Dominion Line, London.

21436 Sapper Laurence BRADY, a 21 year old Postal worker from East Fremantle, Western Australia. He enlisted on 30 May 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
21437 Sapper Charles Christian Thorald CHRISTENSEN, a 29 year old Postal Electrician from Bunbury, Western Australia. He enlisted on 12 February 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 29 April 1919.
21438 Sapper Howard Arthur DELANEY, a 19 year old Telegraphist from Lithgow, New South Wales. He enlisted on 1 August 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.
21442 Sapper Charles Leslie FIRTH, an 18 year old Postal worker from Rozelle, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 October 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 6 October 1919.
21439 Sapper Harold Hampton HARDWICK, a 28 year old Accountant from Lismore, New South Wales. He enlisted on 22 August 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 9 August 1919.
21440 Sapper Albert McKendry MASON, a 26 year old Electrical mechanic from Wangaratta, Victoria. He enlisted on 25 October 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.
