The following is a transcription of the 1st Australian Field Squadron Engineers, "D" Troop, War Diary Account detailing their role at the Battle of Rafa, Sinai, 9 January 1917.

 

Masaid 8 January 1917

Troop trekked with Brigade to Sheikh Zowaiid.


Sheikh Zowaiid 9 January 1917

Preparing water for Brigade during Rafa Battle


Sheikh Zowaiid 10 January 1917

Returned to Masaid with Brigade and put down necessary water supply gear for watering Brigade.
