The following is a transcription of the Headquarters, Imperial Camel Corps, War Diary Account detailing their role at the Battle of Rafa, Sinai, 9 January 1917.
Rafa 8 January 1917
Brigade paraded at 1400 and marched to Rendezvous; joined Anzac Mounted Division; reached Sheikh Zowaiid at 2130; left for Rafa 0100 on 9th.
Rafa 9 January 1917
Division assembled 3 miles south east of El Magruntein at dawn. See account of action attached. (See: Headquarters, Imperial Camel Corps, Battle Account.) Brigade returned to Sheikh Zowaiid at 2400
El Arish 10 January 1917
Brigade left Sheikh Zowaiid at 0700 and reached El Arish at 1450.
